The fifth track off of Cadence Calling's 'Metamorphosis' EP.
lyrics
Stubborn notions of self-worth nurtured by the doubt in my mind are holding me captive
Chained by the thought of being my own worst enemy, left only with a rusty knife to break me free
Until I truly believed the feelings of confusion and self loathing as accomplices to dissolution
Persuaded by pessimism, controlled by skepticism
Taken under hostage with a bag over my head
This cant be real, this cant be true, there must be something that I can do
Not easily dissmissed, nor forgot, my ailing mind lays waste to thought
Of all the times I've taken for granted, the biggest of hearts
Deserving of nothing but guilt and shame, a tattered ego will only remain
A lesson in pain is a lesson of gain, there is so much more than me
Broken, beat and scarred
I bare evidence of the past reflective in my actions and compelling on my speech towards another
Just because you're lost in the dark doesn't mean you're there forever
A beacon of hope awaits the other side, epiphany from within your path is cleared
This is so much more than me
Not easily dissmissed, nor forgot, my ailing mind lays waste to thought
Of all the times I've taken for granted, the biggest of hearts
Deserving of nothing but guilt and shame, a tattered ego will only remain
A lesson in pain is a lesson of gain, there is so much more than me
Two impressive vocalists, variable and skilled guitarists and a tight and very powerful rhythm section. That plus the ability to write a song really leaves nothing left to desire here. mourner
Awesome lyrics. Awesome screams. Intense riffs. Intense drums. One of the best albums I know. "Sleep Paralysis" is my absolute favourite song besides the lyrical intense song "Life//List". ShatteredBlackStar
Amazing songs,KSE lyrics helps me a lot,i lost my father recently(2020).
The time where i was really close with him was in summer 2007 and i listened a lot to ADD Album at the time.
So hearing KSE always reminds me of him,r.i.p.
Jesse leach is an amazing vocalist and lyricist, howard too. love 'em both.
Adam is a genius period.
